 Unlocking Cornish Potential (UCP) SBD Associates has just been appointed as the external evaluators to Unlocking Cornish Potential, the graduate placement and support organisation managed by Cornwall College on behalf of the Combined Universities in Cornwall. UCP has successfully operated for a number of years but has recently received Convergence funding to continue until December 2010 and rather than have a traditional end project evaluation decided to appoint an organisation to run alongside them whom they can bounce strategic decisions and other ideas off. Ken Martin will be the lead adviser. He was well aware of the impact of UCP as he looked at their activities when evaluating the overall business support activities of the CUC. Ken said “We are delighted to have been chosen by UCP from a tough shortlist to undertake this project and look forward to working with Allyson and her team to ensure it is a successful as it can be in the current challenging economic circumstances. We are well aware of the positive impact introducing the right graduate into the right company can make but also acutely aware of the elements that need to be in place for it to succeed. We see our role as helping the team ensure that those elements are as company friendly as they can be and revising the impact measures so we have an accurate picture of what difference they actually make.” www.cornwall.ac.uk/ucp | |
